During a health care speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, President Joe Biden encountered disruption from pro-Palestinian demonstrators on Tuesday, prompting him to acknowledge their concerns.

As Biden addressed the audience, two protesters interrupted, emphasizing the healthcare situation in Gaza. Despite the interruption, Biden acknowledged their point, asserting that everyone deserves access to healthcare. He urged the audience to remain patient with the demonstrators as they were escorted out, recognizing the need for increased care in Gaza.

Following their removal, Biden reiterated the importance of addressing healthcare needs in Gaza, prompting cheers and a standing ovation from the audience.

This incident is part of a pattern, with pro-Palestinian protesters frequently demonstrating at Biden’s events in recent months. The protests coincide with heightened scrutiny over the civilian casualties in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas conflict.

While Biden has faced pressure from within his party to take a stronger stance on humanitarian issues, he has chosen to increase pressure on Israel to allow more aid into Gaza rather than calling for a halt to U.S. weapon sales to Israel.

In his recent State of the Union address, Biden announced plans for the U.S. military to establish a temporary pier in the Mediterranean to facilitate aid delivery to Gaza. Additionally, humanitarian aid has been airdropped into the region.

Simultaneously, Biden and his administration have criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the conflict, with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer even calling for new elections in Israel. Biden supported Schumer’s stance, indicating a shared concern among many Americans.
